FESTIVAL PRESS RELEASE:

Variations Theatre Group is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Unchained Theatre Festival.

New York, NY, May 28th, 2014 – As part of its commitment to the discovery of fresh voices in the American Theatre, Variations Theatre Group, Inc. (VTG) is proud to present the 2nd -annual Unchained Theatre Festival.

The Unchained Theatre Festival features an original short-performance piece competition with artists from all over the United States of America. VTG Artistic Director Rich Ferraioli said, “We are really excited to get to work with so many new and talented artists. Part of our mission is to provide an opportunity for original works to be showcased and performed. This festival is exactly that outlet!”

Each piece, which vary from 10 minutes to 60 minutes in length, in the competition will be performed four times in the course of three-weeks. Voting by audiences and judges will determine the top pieces, which will then move on to the finals on June 28th, 2014. Awards will be given out for best play, best director, best actress, best actor, and others.

Performances will take place at the Chain Theatre located at 21-28 45th Rd. Long Island City, NY 11101. The festival opens on June 13th, 2014 and runs through June 28th, 2014. Performances are held Wednesday through Friday at 7pm and 9pm. Saturday & Sundays at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, 7pm, & 9pm. June 5th through the 22nd.

Tickets are $15.00 for all performances. The closing ceremony/final round tickets are $18.00.
